Coming soon · Siri and Shortcuts

Ask Siri how your family is doing.

Check requests, screen time and your home network, or give extra time, with one sentence. FamilyAtlas opens on your iPhone or iPad, answers from your family’s latest information and asks before it changes anything.

FamilyAtlas is coming soon. Siri and Shortcuts are part of the parent app for iPhone and iPad and are still being checked on real devices before public release.

SiriNothing needs you right now: no pending requests, chores to approve, unread notifications or SOS alerts.

A real FamilyAtlas answer, shown as an example. Yours depends on your family.

Sixteen actions in three kinds

The eight ready-made shortcuts are part of 16 FamilyAtlas actions. The others are in Apple’s Shortcuts app, where you choose the details.

Ask

Spoken answers. Nothing is changed.

  • Check My FamilyRequests, chores, unread alerts and SOS alerts in one sentence.
  • Check Screen TimeToday’s reported screen time and app limits. iPhones and iPads don’t share app usage, and Siri says so instead of giving a number.
  • Check Family RequestsWaiting requests by kind, plus chores to approve.
  • Check Home NetworkWhether your home controller is online, how many devices are online and any active pause.
  • Get Family ReportOne short report you choose: unread alerts, low batteries, chores to approve, pickups, SOS, the family calendar, home internet, Guard browsers or your plan.
  • Get Child ReportA child’s TimeBank balance, today’s chores or open Team Quests.

Act, after you confirm

Siri tells you exactly what will change and waits for your yes.

  • Approve Extra TimeApproves the minutes your child asked for. If a request has no minutes, FamilyAtlas opens Requests instead.
  • Decline Extra Time RequestDeclines one waiting extra time request.
  • Give Extra Screen Time15 minutes, 30 minutes or 1 hour more for today.
  • Add TimeBank Minutes10, 15, 20 or 30 minutes, within your family’s TimeBank limit.
  • Approve Completed ChoreApproves a chore your child marked as done. Their note is never read aloud.
  • Pause Kids InternetChildren’s devices on your home network, for 30 minutes, 1 hour or 2 hours. Parents’ devices and mobile data are not paused.
  • Resume Kids InternetEnds that pause only. Devices paused one by one and schedules stay as they are.

Open

Go straight to the right screen. Siri says nothing about what is on it.

  • Open Family MapThe family map.
  • Open in FamilyAtlasOne of 23 family screens, such as Requests, the family calendar or Home Control.
  • Open Child ScreenOne of 15 screens for a child, such as screen time, TimeBank or location history.

Every change waits for your yes

Before Siri changes anything, it says what will happen, such as which child and how many minutes, and asks you to confirm. Say no and nothing changes. If several children or requests fit, Siri asks which one instead of guessing.

If the connection drops after you confirm, Siri may not know whether the change was made. Check FamilyAtlas before you try again.

How to use it

Use a ready-made shortcut

  1. Install FamilyAtlas on your iPhone or iPad with iOS 17 or later, sign in as a parent and open it once.
  2. Say a phrase with the app’s name, such as “Check my family in FamilyAtlas”. Or open Apple’s Shortcuts app and tap the shortcut.
  3. Unlock your iPhone or iPad if asked. FamilyAtlas opens and Siri answers.
  4. For a change, listen to what Siri says will happen, then confirm or say no.

Build your own shortcut

  1. Open Apple’s Shortcuts app and create a new shortcut.
  2. Add an action: search for FamilyAtlas and choose one, such as Give Extra Screen Time or Get Family Report.
  3. Choose the details you always want, such as the minutes or the report.
  4. Give the shortcut a name that is easy to say. Run it by saying its name to Siri, or tap it.

A child or request you leave empty is decided when the shortcut runs: if several fit, Siri asks which one; if only one fits, FamilyAtlas uses it. Siri still asks you to confirm any change.

What you need

  • The FamilyAtlas parent app on an iPhone or iPad with iOS 17 or later.
  • Signed in as a parent in your family, with an internet connection.
  • For home internet actions: a home controller (Brume 2) set up in FamilyAtlas and the Family + Home plan.
  • Nothing to switch on: FamilyAtlas has no separate Siri setting.

Honest limits

  • FamilyAtlas opens every time. Unlock your iPhone or iPad first, and FamilyAtlas too if you use its app lock. Nothing runs silently in the background.
  • Parents only: on a child’s or protected adult’s device every action refuses.
  • Made for iPhone and iPad. Apple Watch, HomePod and Mac are not supported.
  • Siri never reads locations, messages, alert contents, chore notes, Team Quest answers or calendar event titles.
  • Screen time is what devices reported. There is no “minutes left today” answer.
  • A home internet pause or resume is sent to your home controller, which applies it when it next checks in.

Questions parents ask

Do I have to set anything up?

No. Open FamilyAtlas once after you install or update it. The eight ready-made shortcuts are then available to Siri, and all 16 actions appear in Apple’s Shortcuts app.

Can Siri change my child’s rules without me noticing?

No. Siri tells you every change and needs your confirmation, and FamilyAtlas opens on your screen each time.

Which languages does Siri understand?

The ready-made phrases are registered in English and Turkish, and FamilyAtlas answers in English or Turkish. Recognition depends on your Siri language and iOS version. In any language you can run the actions from the Shortcuts app.

Does it work when my iPhone is locked?

Unlock it first. Every FamilyAtlas action opens the app, so your iPhone or iPad needs to be unlocked, and FamilyAtlas too if you use its app lock.
