Looking for a Gryphon alternative?

Gryphon alternative
Home rules without replacing your router.

Gryphon is a mesh Wi-Fi router with parental controls built in. Parents look for an alternative when they like their current Wi-Fi and don’t want to replace it, or when they want controls on the child’s phone as well.

Why parents look beyond Gryphon.

It replaces your router

Gryphon is your Wi-Fi router. Gryphon AX units cannot mesh with older Gryphon Tower or Guardian units.

Router plus subscription

The Gryphon AX router was listed at $299 to $499 for a 1-pack, plus a Standard or Premium subscription for security features.

No family location or SOS

We did not find live location or an SOS button in Gryphon’s documentation.

Before you change apps

If you switch from Gryphon.

  1. Write down your Gryphon profiles, schedules and block lists before changing anything.
  2. If Gryphon is your only router, you need a replacement Wi-Fi router before you can remove it. The Brume 2 is a wired gateway, not Wi-Fi.
  3. Move one child’s devices first and check the TV and console rules work.
  4. Cancel the Gryphon subscription once the new setup is running.

FamilyAtlas is in early access. Check support for your child’s device before you plan a move.
