Looking for a Life360 alternative?

Life360 alternative
When location is only part of the job.

Life360 is built around the family map. Some parents start looking elsewhere when they also want screen-time rules and app limits on their child’s phone, and would rather not run two apps to get them.

Why parents look beyond Life360.

No screen-time controls in its documentation

We did not find daily limits, per-app limits, bedtime schedules or app blocking in Life360’s official documentation. Families who want location and phone rules together end up adding a second app.

The free tier is short on history

Life360’s free tier keeps 2 days of location history and 2 saved places. Longer history and more places come with Silver, Gold or Platinum.

Nothing for the TV or console

Life360 follows people, not the devices at home. It does not set internet rules for a TV, a console or a laptop.

Before you change apps

If you switch from Life360.

  1. Install FamilyAtlas on one Android phone first and run both apps for a week. Compare location updates and battery use on that phone.
  2. Write down your saved places before you leave. FamilyAtlas does not import Life360 places or history.
  3. Set up check-ins and SOS, then show your child how both work.
  4. Cancel a paid Life360 membership where you bought it (App Store, Google Play or Life360’s website) before it renews.
  5. Tell the family before anyone leaves the Circle, so nobody is surprised when a dot disappears.

FamilyAtlas is in early access. Check support for your child’s device before you plan a move.
